Pre- and post-processingSubmitted by administrator on Thu, 17/06/2010 - 17:56 |
Standard 'preprocessing'
The photographs that are for sale on this site, allready have had a basic 'pre-processing'. This means that after every match or event, all photographs go through a selection process:
- some photo's are kept apart for clients like newspapers, magazine's like ManMeer! or sites like Waterpolo-world ;
- some photos are kept apart for the 'stockphoto'-collection that I am building on this site;
- bad ones are off course discarded;
- just like photo's that do not really 'say' anything to me (which is often the most difficult choice).
After that, all photo's that require it, get a basic correction in color and lighting (absolutely required due to the often terrible light-conditions in indoor swimming pools), and they are cropped to a nice composition. This basic 'preprocessing' already takes quite some time and effort, but I think this is necessary to produce sellable photographs.
Due to the often large number of photo's (a typical waterpolo-match results in 200-250 'clicks' on my camera's, of which on average 80-120 are 'presentable'), I am not able to give each resulting photo the maximum attention it could require. But for the prices I charge, I think the quality is still very good.
Standard free post-processing for products above € 20,00 each
However, all photos ordered in the form of products from € 20,00 each, get an additional quality-check, before they go into production. This check includes sharpness, color, contrast, clarity and a few more aspectes, so that the end-product will be even better than what you saw on-line. This post-processing may take a maximum of 2 working days, although I aim to process these the same or next working day, resulting in no delivery delay at all.
Special requests?
Next to these pre- and processing service, I'm open to requests to adjust/enhance/improve photos to match your specific requirements. Or to propose a nice collage of specific combinations of photos, as you can see in the 'collages and assignments' page.
